[₪]: CHAKRA CONTROL — is a term that refers to the control of one's chakra and aptitude at controlling it. In Naruto, chakra takes time and a great deal of training to gradually build up. Thus, the key is not actually having chakra, but being able to sufficiently control and conserve it. Everyone has chakra, but only skilled ninja can correctly "mold" and "manipulate" it to its fullest extent. Moulding chakra involves the extraction of energies from both the body's cells and the mind's consciousness, then mixing them together within the individual. The amount of each energy will differ based on the type of technique the ninja wishes to execute. In other words, a ninja could create too much or too little chakra for a given technique, resulting in the chakra being used inefficiently. In addition, even if a ninja is able to mold the correct amount of chakra, if they cannot manipulate the chakra properly, the desired technique will not be as effective or will not execute at all. Wasting energy will also create weaknesses like early exhaustion, which would hinder the ninja's capacity to fight long-term battles. General training methods for improving one's molding and manipulation of chakra are the Leaf Concentration, Tree Climbing, and Water Walking exercises.

As an in-between stage, some ninja can partially manipulate their chakra. This means they can use their chakra, but not effectively control it, which results in a poorly executed technique, a prime example is Naruto trying to use the Academy Clone Technique. To manipulate their chakra more easily, hand seals can be used. With these hand seals, users can control their chakra with higher efficiency, allowing them to execute their techniques more effectively. Different techniques also require the use of different hand seals. When creating a ninjutsu, the two methods of manipulating chakra are referred to as Shape Transformation and Nature Transformation:

• Shape Transformation deals with controlling the form, movement, and potency of chakra.
• Nature Transformation usually deals with changing the physical properties of chakra into an element.
• Nature Transformations of Yin and Yang exist, dealing with ratios of spiritual and physical energies within chakra.

These methods can be implemented separately or together in order to create a technique. The general term for the exact moulding and proper manipulation of chakra is called "chakra control". People with skilled chakra control are usually Medical-nin or Sensor-types, both of which requires extreme control over chakra to be effective. Genjutsu apparently also requires good chakra control. A good way to build up chakra in the body is to spin it into a tight spiral. Whether to spin the chakra left or right is dependent on the way the user's hair grows, either to the right or left. An opponent can negate a technique by absorbing it and reversing the spin of the chakra within their own body.

CHAKRA NATURES

[₪]: BASIC CHAKRA NATURES — There are five basic types into which the nature of chakra can be transformed, called the Five Elements Nature Transformations (五大性質変化, Godai Seishitsu Henka). These five types are also called elements and are not only the origin of the names of the Five Great Shinobi Countries, but also the foundation of all elemental ninjutsu. The five basic natures are all connected to each other in a circle, each being weaker than one and stronger than another.
These elements allow for elemental ninjutsu to be performed:

• Fire Release (火遁, Katon) is one of the basic elemental nature transformations. It is performed by moulding super-heated chakra inside the stomach before releasing it via the lungs and mouth. There are also variants to this in the form of some mediums such as the use of gun powder, explosive tags and chakra flow into a weapon. Commonly affiliated with the Tiger hand seal, Fire Release consists of mid to long-ranged offensive techniques that cause combustive and explosive damage. Katon is weak to Suiton (water release) and strong against Fuuton (wind release).
• Earth Release (土遁, Doton) is one of the basic elemental nature transformation techniques and allow the user to manipulate the surrounding earth for offensive and defensive purposes or create it; be it dirt, mud, or rock. Earth Release techniques have the ability to change the strength and composition of the earth from being as hard as metal to as soft as clay, as well as manipulating their density, making them heavier or lighter. Pre-existing earth is not necessary though, for the user can create it with their own chakra. Earth release commonly affiliated with the Snake seal and/or slamming their palm onto the ground.
• Lightning Release (雷遁, Raiton) is one of the five basic elemental nature transformation techniques that allows the user to generate lightning by increasing the high frequency vibrations of their chakra, allowing for piercing damage and fast movement. The electricity paralyses the target so that they are unable to move and leave them vulnerable to a finishing strike. While uncommon, lightning can be infused into bladed weapons in a way similar to Wind Release through chakra flow for increased piercing power through vibrations, with the added effect of inducing numbness. When the technique is released from their bodies, and thus not requiring physical contact, it does not move as fast as true lightning. Instead, due to the control the user has to exert over it, it moves far slower, which can give opponents time to still react.
  
• Wind Release (風遁, Fūton; "Wind Release") is one of the five basic elemental nature transformations. It is performed by making chakra as sharp and thin as possible. Wind Release is mainly short to mid-ranged offensive techniques that combine brute force and keen precision to deal cutting and slashing damage. A rarity among the five chakra natures, wind techniques are usually performed by generating air circulation and can be enhanced through this method as well. Wind-natured chakra can also be channelled into blades to increase their cutting power and overall range.
• Water Release (水遁, Suiton) is one of the basic elemental nature transformation techniques that allow the user to manipulate pre-existing water, or create their own, by turning their chakra into water. It takes much more ability to create the water outside the body than to manipulate what is already available or expel it from their mouths. One of the most versatile of the five basic chakra natures, Water Release techniques can not only change shape but state as well. Moreover, the water becomes more solid in the process as well. Offensive water techniques seem to inflict harm from the sudden force that they exert, which would cause massive internal damage to a human.

ADVANCED CHAKRA NATURES (KEKKEI GENKAI)

[₪]: ADVANCED CHAKRA NATURES — Besides the five basic nature types, there are several more advanced types. By initiating more than one basic chakra nature transformation simultaneously, one can create a completely new nature of chakra with unique properties, and is referred to as an "elementally-recomposed nature type". Doing this requires a special ability and such abilities are rarely seen outside a kekkei genkai or kekkei tōta. In the anime, it is stated that those with the ability to utilise advanced natures possess an affinity for the chakra natures they must simultaneously activate.

• Ice Release (氷遁, Hyōton) is one of the many advanced chakra natures and is a combination of wind release and water release. Users of this release are capable of creating ice out of water molecules in the air or through pre-existing water sources. The Ice created by this element is fire-retardant and very durable, making it a very capable defensive element. Offensive wise, users can create massive fields of icicles or thousands of ice shards that are capable of being shot off at high speed due to their wind element. Ice release users are also capable of traveling between their ice creations that are in close proximity of each other via merging with one of the ice creations. RESERVED BY FUBUKI CLAN
• Wood Release (木遁, Mokuton) is one of the many advanced chakra natures and is a combination of water release and earth release. Wood release allows for the user to create life - creating vast forests and woodlands out of the ground or out of the users own body. Advanced users of the this nature are noted to have created entire forests where sand had once been. Wood release is a very versatile element is known to be highly capable of fighting tailed beasts. • Lava Release (熔遁, Yōton) is one of the many advanced chakra natures and is a combination of fire release and earth release. Lava release is unique in that the element can be used in a large variety of ways. The first way is the typical lava - molten rock capable of melting through most substances. The second is a quicklime substance capable of moderate corrosion and is capable of hardening into a substance similar to cement. The third and final method is a rubber like substance that the user can use to make flexible defenses or hard to destroy barriers. Lava release is a very capable element in the sense that users can use it both offensively and defensively. RESERVED BY ______ CLAN
• Blaze Release (炎遁, Enton) is one of the many advanced chakra natures and is a combination of fire release and yin release. Blaze release allows for the user to create extremely powerful black flames that can me molded and shaped into many items via advanced chakra control. Blaze release is different from normal fire release in the sense that it is extremely difficult to extinguish; often requiring creative ways to be dealt with, such as sealing the flames or enclosing them with earth. • Storm Release (嵐遁, Ranton) is one of the many advanced chakra natures and is a combination of water release and lightning release. Storm release is not as it sounds, instead of creating storm clouds it creates beams of liquid lightning energy that can be guided towards the target. It should be noted that storm release can be use to substitute the water used in water release techniques, allowing for the water to be replaced with liquid lightning. RESERVED BY _____ CLAN
• Boil Release (沸遁, Futton) is one of the many advanced chakra natures and is a combination of water release and fire release. Boil release is a highly corrosive element capable of melting through almost anything in existence. Users of this element are capable of determining the size of the acidic cloud release and the level of acidity. Boil release is much like Scorch release in the sense that there is no way to keep it form harming allies so this element may also serve as a double edged sword. RESERVED BY _____ CLAN
• Dust Release (塵遁, Jinton) is an advanced nature and is a combination of earth release, fire release, and wind release. Manipulating large clouds of dust, users of the element to literally grind and crush opposition away. Dust release users also have a unique ability that allows users to manipulate the weight of objects and give objects the ability of short-term flight. Particle style is a highly versatile and useful nature, and is very destructive. The downside to this is that it is very difficult to master. RESERVED BY _____ CLAN
• Explosion Release (爆遁, Bakuton) is one of the many advanced chakra natures and is a combination of lightning release and earth release. This release allows for the user to utilize explosive chakra in combat, allowing the user to cause explosions in whatever they come into contact with. This allows the user to infuse their chakra with their hands, feet, and weapon to create incredibly devastating hand to hand or weapon styles. Explosive release chakra can also be infused into objects, such as infusing the chakra into a kunai to create an explosive kunai without the tag or infusing the chakra into rocks on the ground to create landmines. • Scorch Release (灼遁, Shakuton) is one of the many advanced chakra natures and is a combination of fire release and wind release. This nature creates chakra that is capable of heating up an enemy to the point where all the liquid inside their body evaporates, killing the victim and leaving them a desiccated corpse. Scorch release also wilts and wastes away to things such as trees and wildlife. As an element, Scorch release is purely offensive and lacks the defensive capabilities of elements such as Ice and Wood release. An important note is that Scorch release does not have the means to differentiate between friend or foe and such will devastate allies as much it would devastate the enemy. • Magnet Release (磁遁, Jiton) is one of the many advanced chakra elements and is a combination of wind release and lightning release. Magnet release allows for the user to convert their chakra into something new entirely - magnetic forces. Magnet release users can create spheres of magnetic energy allowing them to deflect magnetic object and also allows for the user to magnetize and control metal objects. Magnet users can also magnetize an enemy, turning them into a homing beacon for magnetized weapons - allowing the weapons to essentially follow them around. Magnet release users are also capable of mimicking dust release in the sense that users are capable of controlling waves of gold or iron dust. Magnet release is a very diverse and versatile element. • Crystal Release (晶遁, Shōton) is one of the many advanced chakra natures and is a combination earth release and yin release. Crystal release users are capable of creating crystal out of both the user or the ground. The crystal can then be refined into giant spikes or formed into various other shapes, for example weapons and items. Crystal release is weak against lightning release and vibrations. • Dark Release (冥遁, Meiton) is an advanced nature and is a combination of lightning release and yin release. Dark release can be used to absorb, manipulate, and release chakra taken from an opponent. Users can use dark release techniques of this nature through a mark on their left hand. This mark resembles two diamonds, one overlapping the other. Chakra is absorbed through the upper square, while it is released and manipulated through the lower. RESERVED BY _____ CLAN
• Steel Release (鋼遁, Kōton) is an advanced nature and is a combination of earth release and yang release. Steel release can be used to make one's body virtually indestructible by turning it into black steel. As well as this, steel release can also be used to manipulate the form of steel, rather than use techniques involving steel and locomotion.

• Swift Release (迅遁, Jinton) is an advanced nature and is the combination of wind release and yin release. Swift release can be used to move at virtually instantaneous speed, granting the user an advantage over opponents with more strength than speed, such as users of Chakra Enhanced Strength.
