A People in Secret:
The Nagori are a people whose blood thirsts for ever more powerful chakra, and the shinobi born into their clan have long been known to chase after this power. It is this thirst for greater strength that guides the elite hunter clan along their journey through the ninja world. As anyone of Nagori blood can tell you, their must always be a greater strength out there, just waiting to be understood.
The Nagori of today are nothing like their ancestors. While the first Nagori were the trueborn of a band of bounty hunters, the modern Nagori often undergo extensive genetic manipulation in utero, turning them into what are called carriers. This is in reference to the fact that they were specifically designed to carry on the clan's pure bloodline.
Every role has very specific duties in Nagori society, as the Nagori do not truly align themselves with any village. Instead, they choose to live in their compound near the Village Hidden in the Swamp and keep to themselves. They have enough going on with their research to keep them occupied, anyway. After all, the Nagori's thirst for chakra cannot possibly let them live their lives without understanding it completely. Nagori Science Corps officers constantly run tests on chakra samples and use them to create a multitude of ninja weapons, from Chakra Poison to Hydraulic Hooks. These ninja tools are what give the Nagori Trueborn a distinctive advantage over their competitors when they are out hunting for their targets.
Those members of Nagori society who are born as Carriers are given a huge responsibility, considering bloodline members of the clan make up the entirety of the clan's most elite fighting forces, such as the Barrier Corps. The clan's bloodline ability allows Nagori to manipulate their physical body in remarkable ways, creating unpredictable and dangerous fighters. This ability comes from a Nagori's understanding of chakra. They cause the chakra to control their physical form, allowing their muscles to tear and joints to dislocate freely, so long as the desired effect is being achieved. The Carrier then summons healing chakra as their body returns to normal, preventing long lasting or severe damage. However there is much physical pain if a large amount of Physique Manipulation has taken place, and prolonged heavy use can be disastrous for one's body in the future.

This longing caused the Nagori to study chakra, and now Nagori Science Corps shinobi use their understanding of chakra to achieve a wide variety of effects. Most Nagori destined for shinobi life are born having already undergone extensive genetic alterations in utero. These Nagori are called Carriers. Carriers are born with a high sensitivity to chakra, due to both their bloodline and their inorganic nature. This makes them all remarkably astute trackers, and Nagori Tracker Corps specialists are the stuff of legend. It's said that they can find a target in the middle of the sea from any coastline.
