Day to day life for him was near impossible, the only reason he's alive is because someone in the village finally listened. Bofuu was given a place to stay on his own, next door to a girl he considers his sister and only true family, despite no blood connection. Bofuu's parents and grandparents were all banished, the later having aided his parents in their efforts against the boy.
Even though he loves the work that he does, Bofuu was looking for something more, a way to help more people and make a bigger impact, which is why he enrolled at the Ninja Academy. All of those he looks up to, have at one point or another, been shinobi. Because of this he has been helped greatly in his quest to become a ninja, training him in ninjutsu techniques since his was a mere child. Bofuu's "sister" has taught him the basics of Tai-Chi, and while he is by no means a master, he takes great pride in the art and is adept enough to protect himself.
While he may be the jinchuriki of Kokuō, Bofuu has never looked at it as a curse or a form of damnation; then again, it didn't cross his mind much with everything else he had to deal with. Kokuō doesn't speak often, but Bofuu has noticed that the biju seems very shy and uncomfortable, almost afraid. Thus far the five-tails has only really talked to Bofuu about one thing, its dislike for being controlled. Because of this, the beast and boy connect on a certain level and draw parallels in their lives. The jinchuriki wishes to help make the biju more comfortable and accepting of the shinobi, who felt sympathy for the beast.
• Physical Description: Bofuu's tall, athletic body is topped with a short and spiky crown of dark orange hair. While both his shoulders,back, and left collarbone are adorned with tattoos, Bofuu's skin is quite pale. His favorite necklace sits around his neck.
Bofuu's homeland has had a significant impact on his wardrobe as all his clothes, excluding his sandals, have designs that resemble waves or water in general. These patterns seem to flow from the hood of his cloak downwards, where it seems to collect around the bottom. While his cloak is dark blue with markings in varying tinges and tints of blue, his pants are black with blue and white markings. Even Bofuu's shirt which is as blue as the Mediterranean has black and with marking that run down its short sleeves.
A more noticeable nod to his village, the hood of Bofuu's cloak as well as the metal plate on his fingerless gloves are emblazoned with the village logo. Whether it be around his neck as a choker or actually on his forehead, he wears his long-tailed forehead protector at all times. While on duty as a shinobi, he also wears a grey flak jacket. This vestment has no collar, short sleeves decorated with the symbol of Hyōgakure, fasteners on each side, and two scroll pouches which sit diagonally on his left side.
•Characteristics: Bofuu is always seeking adventure, and never settles for anything, he strives to improve constantly. He loves to joke with his friends and is a very humorous, joyous and curious person. A generally happy and kind person who finds strength and inspiration in his peers, Bofuu can be quite outspoken and opinionated when it comes to subjects which matter to him. While he may be friendly to all, this shinobi has learned how easy it is to be manipulated and broken; therefore, he is slow to trust others. That being said however, he will give anything for those who are worthy of his loyalty and trust.
Not only does this ninja have quite a personality, but he is also a brilliant thinker, who is able to analyze the situation and think on his feet. Many a times has his intelligence gotten him out of a confrontation, whether he had a plan beforehand or not.
•Strengths and Weaknesses:
Strengths: While Bofuu's sharp mind and personality may be his biggest strengths, he is skilled in other areas also.
Many years working on fishing boats and as a smith for the village have finely toned the muscles of his already imposing figure.
Bofuu can be very determined and passionate about things that he cares about.
He would do anything for those lucky enough to be considered friends and family by him.
Weaknesses: Bofuu's mind and humorous disposition have also been a hindrance, as his quick wit and sarcasm get him into troublesome situations frequently. There are times when Bofuu becomes to passionate about something and let's his emotions get the better of him, swaying his judgement.
Speed is certainly not his strong suit, because even though his body is strong, it weighs him down and prolongs what would ordinarily be a short battle.
Because most of Bofuu's training has been in Ninjutsu, he only somewhat adept in the art of Taijutsu and his knowledge of Genjutsu is limited to what he learned at the Academy.
Due to everything he endured, Bofuu still struggles with strong feelings of anxiety and depression from time to time. While not frequently, this does limit him in almost every way possible.
