Couldn't find a spot on the forum that seemed appropriate for regular ol' memeber peons to voice questions about the site itself, so if I missed it please feel free to kick it over.

ANYWAY.

Just wanted to be sure that I've got my facts straight.

AU world set several hundred years into the future of the Narutoverse

The continent that all those events took place on has been shattered.

Every major village is located on an island by itself, more or less.

Every village has a unique culture that's developed during this period of time.

(If I'm wrong point it out and I'll demonstrate my amazing crow eating ability)

So, everything I've mentioned above is pretty neat. A few questions spring to mind tho, mostly pertaining to how one should base their character. Now, ima pick on Tales for a bit because he's a big boy and he can accept that I'm not bitching because I'm a little malicious shit like that.

Now, that story with the gods sounds really cool. It's an untapped section of Naruto that's never really been explained in Canon. But it really doesn't TELL me what's up with the village. Are those nintai monks a clan? Is it just a fighting style passed down from true believers? If they aren't a clan, why the hell do they get bird feathers? Etc ect

Also, if most of the village history revolves around these religions, how would village clans fit in? Are they just randomly grouped into an army that fought? Are there even clans?

Do they worship the kage as a God? Do they have slaves? Are they bent on conquest, or just content with their slice of paradise?

Now, the only reason I'm throwing questions like these out there is because I REALLY wanna get involve with this, and I'm uncertain as to whether or not Staff feel like World building is something they wanna handle personally.

If so, then I'm down to do whatever, but if you're ok with me or someone else throwing out ideas, lemme know.

I'll let tales answer about Oasis and Hibi about lantern. You didnt directly mention Glacier but I figured I'd answer anyway. Granted, there isn't so much a God in glacier as much as it a myth about a snow demon that essentially represents mother winter.

Glacier is essentially the coming together of various clans and refugees in order to make survival in the barren North a possibility. Together they forged a new life for themselves, which is why they don't trust outsiders and the village is borderline xenophobic, most outsiders hardly get to see anything past the entrance.

I'm all for members wanting to jump in and assist with the world building so long as what they're attempting to contribute fits in.

JK buddy, but seriously Oasis info isn't finished yet, which is why it didn't answer your questions.

The orders of the Gods aren't clans, but the members are blessed by their respective God and granted special abilites/jutsu (Which I would loooooove help designing if you do decide to join up). The stronger they become, the more abilities they gain and the more "blessing" they receive, and the special chakra granted to them by the Gods would eventually warp their appearance.

While the history won't really mention clans, they of course existed, but the Orders of the Gods were of course so big and powerful that they played the biggest parts of the founding of the village.

They do not worship the Kage as a God, per say, but they do believe that each Shikage was selected by the Gods. There are no slaves, and for the last 200 years (Oasis is the Oldest village) they have been pretty content just chillin' in the desert being sexy and having no real conflict, but the newest Shikage is much more Ambitious than any of his predecessors.

Anyway, I was actually kinda impressed with yours the most? You've got holidays, you mention social norms, the general mentality of the village as a whole, ect ect. You've also ensured that you've got space for people to make their mark. Tales has a great history and concept behind his village, but I have a harder time fitting in something else to his narrative.

Could totally be that I'm just not using my imagination as much, and I should try harder on my end, but at the very least I wanted to try and talk about it before I did.

The biggest goal we had was to make sure each village had a unique and individual flavor. Which I believe longterm should make the addition of new villages that much more meaningful. I personally want a shifting political climate and cannot wait for when the player base gets to the point that minor villages start to rise to challenge the big 3.

I wasn't aware that the Torogakure summary wasn't transferred over when we moved boards, I just went ahead and did that. But I'll give a rough summary of the gods and the four noble families of Torogakure.

The Shui of the Northern Heavens, under the Dark Warrior; God of Martial Arts: Genbu, the Black Turtle. Genbu is regarded as the 'Greater Yin'. Water is their natural element. Winter is their honored season.

The Shang of the Southern Heavens, under the God of Healing: Suzaku, the Vermillion Phoenix. Suzaku is the 'Lesser Yang' of the fire element, Summer is their honored season.

The Jinshu of the Western Heavens, under the Beast King; God of Crafting: Byakko, the White Tiger. Byakko is known as the Greater Yang. Metal is their natural element. Autumn is their honored season.

The Xiaofan of the Eastern Heavens, under Seiryū, the Azure Dragon. God of Trade and Commerce. Seiryu is the Lesser Yin. Their natural element is Wood. Spring is their honored season.




Other clans are welcome, they just aren't part of the 'noble' four, which each have special bloodlines depending on their gods and lore, etc. It'll all be fleshed out in the days to come when I get some more down time and a handle on the coding and stuff for proboards.
